Howdy! I’m Colleen and welcome to Blonde Across the Pond. Originally from the mild Midwest in the USA, I am now lucky enough to call London my home.
My story begins in the summer of 2012, when I left the US for the first time to study abroad in London through my university in Kansas (Rock Chalk). It ended up being the most life-changing and memorable summers of my life. For the first time, I had really stepped out of my comfort zone and was exposed to new cultures, new foods and a new way of life. I met some of the most influential and incredible people and ended up falling head over heels in love with this beautiful and inspiring city.
Fast forward a few years to December 2014, when I made the permanent jump across the pond to live with my fiancé in London. I love exploring all that this amazing city has to offer, from restaurants and great bars to markets, attractions and unique events, there is never a dull moment.
I started writing Blonde Across the Pond to share my experiences living abroad with my family and it has since turned into a really fun diary of sorts. I’ve developed a real passion and appreciation for food, so you will often see a lot of food and drink discoveries on here, as well as British culture, travels, tips, advice and more.
When I am not blogging, you can most likely find me trying out an exciting new restaurant, exploring the city, spending time with family and friends and planning my wedding.
I so appreciate you taking the time to visit my little corner of the internet – I hope it brings you joy!
