Where to Celebrate the 4th of July in London

American Independence Day is always a blast. Growing up, we celebrated the 4th of July by spending the day at the pool with friends, grillin’ out hot dogs and hamburgers, watching the fireworks in the evening and enjoying drinks on the deck as the fireflies came out. Well, you can take the girl out of Kansas but you can’t take the Kansas out of the girl and despite being 3,000 miles away, I still celebrate the 4th of July every year. Truth be told, London does Independence Day pretty darn well and I’ve rounded up some of the best star spangled specials being served around town in honour of the special holiday!

On Wednesday, 4 July, Balthazar’s Boulangerie will transform into ‘The American Pie Shop’ with a fabulously Instagram-worthy installation outside and inside, and an amazing range of individual (£3) and giant (£12) homemade pies. Take your pick from:

Key Lime
Banana Banoffee
Apple & Blueberry
Pear & Plum
New York Cheesecake

Enjoy in the shop with your choice of cream, ice cream or custard or pre order a large one to go, perfect for 4thJuly dinner party desserts. Having lunch or dinner in the restaurant and don’t want to miss out? Fear not, the pies will be on the dessert menu all week too!
